Oman hosts 3-day Hajj exhibition to guide pilgrims
text_fieldsA three-day exhibition on Hajj rituals opened in Salalah, aiming to guide pilgrims and raise awareness ahead of the pilgrimage season.
The event is being held at Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment and is organised by the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate.
The opening ceremony took place under the auspices of Sheikh Dr Said bin Humaid Al Harthi, Wali of Salalah.
Organisers said the exhibition aims to explain Hajj rituals, provide health guidance for pilgrims travelling between holy sites, and outline services offered by the Omani Hajj mission.
The event also focuses on Islamic values, general information about the pilgrimage and answering visitors’ questions.
The exhibition includes several sections covering locations where rituals are performed, details about the Omani Hajj mission, dedicated material for non-Arabic speakers and health advice for pilgrims.
Visual presentations highlight the virtues of Hajj, types of Tawaf, the ritual of standing at Mount Arafat, casting pebbles at Jamarat sites and other key practices.
The program also features a jurisprudence course titled “The Rites of Hajj” and a religious seminar offering guidance on the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.
Alongside the exhibition, the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs will run a preaching program in mosques and prayer halls across Dhofar’s wilayats.
