The Embassy of India in Muscat, jointly with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organised the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 on 01 October 2025. The initiative was held simultaneously across more than 150 international locations, making it a global celebration of service, fitness and sustainability.

In Muscat, the run witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Indian diaspora, local communities, students, professionals and friends of India. The event was part of Seva Pakhwada (17 September – 2 October) and aimed to highlight India’s progress in infrastructure, healthcare, technology, education and sustainability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation”, participants took part in a 5 km community run. Organisers described it as more than a fitness activity, calling it a celebration of Seva Bhav (spirit of service) while echoing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. The event also emphasised India’s Swadeshi ethos, promoting self-reliance, inclusivity and environmental responsibility.

The Muscat turnout was strong, with over 150 runners joining the initiative. A highlight of the gathering was the collective recitation of the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, where participants committed themselves to India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Another key element was the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, where the community in Muscat planted trees as a symbolic gesture of India’s commitment to building a greener planet.

The event also served as a platform for diaspora engagement and youth mobilisation. Indian Missions worldwide collaborated with cultural groups and local organisations, reinforcing the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, “the world is one family".

The Viksit Bharat Run 2025 has been described as one of India’s largest global outreach efforts. It delivered a message of unity, resilience and collective responsibility while showcasing India’s cultural and developmental achievements. Organisers said the event symbolised hope and service for a stronger, more inclusive India.

The statement concluded with a call, “Together, let us continue the journey towards a Viksit Bharat, a developed, self-reliant India rooted in service and global leadership".
