Kuwait welcomes Portugal’s move to recognize Palestinian State

Kuwait has welcomed Portugal’s decision to initiate procedures for officially recognizing the State of Palestine.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a significant step towards implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions and advancing the Arab Peace Initiative. The ministry emphasized that such efforts support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent statehood on the 1967 border with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Kuwait also urged other nations to follow suit, calling for collective international action to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
