Kuwait issues fatwa prohibiting commercial actions in Mosques

Kuwait has issued a new fatwa prohibiting companies and banks from marketing their products in mosques.

This ruling, given by a recognized Islamic authority, aims to maintain the sanctity of religious spaces.

According to Gulf News, the new rule includes restrictions on offering worshippers free food, water and other services. This decision is significant as it addresses the commercialization of religious sites and seeks to preserve their spiritual environment.

“The purpose of mosques as places of worship, rather than commercial venues. The fatwa emphasizes that mosques should be free from any form of advertising or marketing activities,” authorities stated.
