Hezbollah, the Iran-backed group in Lebanon, launched a barrage of rockets towards Israel following an Israeli strike on a southern village in Lebanon, which resulted in casualties.

The exchange of fire is part of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has escalated in recent weeks.

The strike by Israeli forces targeted Mais al-Jabal village in southern Lebanon, reportedly killing several members of a family. Lebanese authorities confirmed the casualties, identifying the victims as civilians, including children.

In retaliation, Hezbollah fired "dozens of Katyusha and Falaq rockets" at Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel. The group cited the Israeli attack on Mais al-Jabal as the reason for its rocket fire.

The Israeli military reported intercepting some of the rockets launched by Hezbollah and stated that there were no immediate reports of casualties on their side.

Hezbollah has indicated that it will continue its attacks on Israel until a ceasefire is reached in Gaza, which it sees as supporting Palestinians, particularly Hamas.

The ongoing violence along the Lebanese-Israeli border has resulted in numerous casualties and displacement on both sides. Diplomatic efforts by the United States and France have been made to calm tensions in the region.
