Bahrain relaxes COVID precautionary measures

Bahrain's National Medical Team has announced revised arrival rules for vaccinated or Covid-recovered passengers coming to Bahrain from the first day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, state-run Nahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Immunized passengers from GCC countries do not need a covid PCR test upon their entry Bahrain, given that they present the vaccination certificate or recovery status either through the Covid-19 mobile app of their respective countries or in paper form. However, these measures do not apply to those between the ages of six and 17.

Bahraini citizens and expatriates with green shields of vaccination or recovery through the "Be Aware Bahrain" app do not require Covid-19 PCR testing upon arrival.

Passengers coming from the UK, European Union, United States and Canada will be issued a vaccination certification card proving the acceptance of their vaccination status and should adhere to precautionary rules in the country.

Upon entry, travellers from aforementioned countries will be subjected to PCR testing on the first, fifth and tenth day and are to self-quarantine until the test result of the first PCR shows negative. Vaccinated travellers from other countries will undergo the same procedure given that they have a valid vaccination certificate with a QR code.

Meanwhile, those travellers above six years of age arriving from or passing through India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal must produce a negative PCR certificate with QR code taken within 48 hours before departure. Furthermore, they should take PCR tests on the fifth and tenth day of their stay.
