Bengaluru - Incidence of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron has been confirmed in India. Karnataka is the first state to report Omicron with two cases on Thursday. Twenty-five nations have already confirmed the new variant. The Serum Institute of India (SII) is waiting for approval on its request to use its Covid-19 vaccine - Covishield as a booster. Authorities refused to provide the details of infected people to prevent the breach of privacy. The Omicron, believed to be dangerous as more transmissible was first reported in South Africa recently.
