New Delhi: Following the first massive dry run days ago, its second step to assess the best way to vaccinate people will take place today.

Also, the states that took part in the first exercise on January 2 will be exempt in the latest dry run, according to NDTV report.

The day-long exercise will help assess operational feasibility of the CoWIN application in a field environment.

Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN) is a digital platform to roll out the vaccination drive.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has directed state health ministers to submit their inputs after completing the dry run.

A second dry run could help check the best way to vaccinate people against COVID-19 plugging loopholes in logistics, as well as ensuring training.

The dry run will see over health 25 workers trying dummy vaccines at each site, which would help test mechanism in place alongside monitoring loopholes in systems ahead of massive vaccination drive.

The world's largest vaccination drive yet will see dry drills holding at three –session sites of 736 districts across 33 States and UTs.

States including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Arunachal Pradesh will not be taking part in the exercise as they have already undergone it.
