CBSE postpones class 10, 12 board exams in Middle East amid regional tensions
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the postponement of class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled for March 5 in the Middle East region, citing security concerns amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said, “Due to the current situation in parts of the Middle East—Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—the board has decided to postpone class 10 and 12 exams scheduled for March 5.” He added that new dates will be announced later, and the board will review the situation for subsequent exams on March 5.
This follows the board’s earlier decision to postpone the exam scheduled on March 2 in the region.
The move comes in the wake of a major attack on Iran by Israel and the United States on Saturday, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, confirmed on Sunday. US President Donald Trump stated that heavy and precise bombing of Iran would continue through the week, or as long as necessary.
