‘Lieutenant Colonel', ‘Dr’ titles removed from actor Mohanlal’s name

Kochi: Superstar Mohanlal’s vehicle registration records have been stripped of the titles “Lieutenant Colonel” and “Dr” that had appeared alongside his name, following a central directive requiring vehicle documents to carry the name exactly as recorded on the Aadhaar card.

The change was made in the registration certificate of his Lincoln car, bearing registration number KL 07 CU 2020. The issue surfaced when Mohanlal’s agent approached the Regional Transport Office for vehicle-related services and encountered a technical hurdle over the mismatch between his Aadhaar and registration records.

The vehicle, registered in 2020, previously listed him as Lieutenant Colonel Dr Mohanlal V. It now carries the name Viswanathan Nair Mohanlal.
