Kozhikode: Shahrukh Saifi, the key suspect in the Kerala train fire incident and a resident of Delhi's Shaheen Bagh had a YouTube channel with 539 subscribers, where he showcased his talent in creating furniture, an IANS report said.

Although some of his videos gained significant popularity with over 90,000 views, the authenticity of the channel could not be independently verified by IANS.

One of Saifi's neighbours, who requested anonymity, mentioned that he had been uploading videos for a year under the channel name "a@shahrukhsaifiscarpentry883," and had uploaded a total of six videos to date. However, the family and most of the neighbours were shocked when they learned that Saifi was a prime accused in the Kozhikode train fire incident.

On April 4, Saifi was apprehended in a joint operation by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and Central intelligence agencies. The suspect had reportedly sustained injuries to his face and head and had sought medical treatment at a hospital in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.

While the police have yet to release further details about the case, they are actively investigating Saifi's past and searching for any potential connections that may explain his alleged involvement in illegal activities. Despite Saifi's popularity on YouTube, authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind his alleged network and the reasons for his sudden change of course in life.

The Kozhikode train fire incident, which occurred on April 2, resulted in the death of three passengers, including a child, while nine other passengers sustained burn injuries in the arson attack on the Alappuzha-Kannur Express train at around 9.45 p.m.
