Palakkad: The police have arrested the father and uncle of the girl whose husband was killed in a case of caste honour killing. The girl's father Prabhukumar and her uncle Suresh were taken into custody by Kuzhalmandam Police, when the two were trying to abscond.
The accused killed Elamandam native Aneesh as he married Haritha after a love affair. The relatives of the girl had said that she would not be married to Aneesh "who was backward economically and by caste standards. "
Aneesh was attacked on Friday at 6.30 pm while he was riding on bike to a nearby shop. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The relatives of the victim said that the girl's father and uncle killed him over the love marriage. The accused had threatened the victim earlier too.
Aneesh and Haritha married three months ago.
