Thrissur: Tirur Satheesh, former secretary of BJP Thrissur district office made a shocking revelation in the Kodakara black money case that held off the BJP leadership in the last assembly elections. He revealed to the media that it was the party fund itself and the money was brought to the office in Thrissur.

The money was brought in six sacks. Satheesh says that at first, they thought it was election materials but when they brought it to the office, they realized it was money. A man named Dharmaraja brought the money, he said, adding that he does not know where the money came from.

Satheesh claimed that whatever money was needed for Thrissur was kept in the office and the rest taken away. Satheesh said that it was as per the instructions of the party leadership and the money was handled by the district officials.

The incident in which 3.5 crore rupees brought from Karnataka was stolen by causing a car accident in Kodakara took place in the early hours of April 2021. Kerala police arrested 22 people including women in the gang who took the money. 2 crore rupees were recovered.

However, there was no clarity about the source of the money and to whom the money was being taken. The police concluded that the money was brought by the BJP to spend on elections in Kerala.

The investigation started with the statement of the complainant and RSS member Dharmaraja that the BJP funds brought from Karnataka were stolen. Two dozen leaders, including BJP state president K Surendran and his son, are witnesses in the Kerala Police case.

The Kerala Police registered a case and closed the investigation. The Enforcement Directorate did not respond to the police's request to take up the investigation.
