Athirappilly’s spectacular world of aerial views

The breathtaking beauty of Athirappilly’s Western Ghats is set to be experienced from an entirely new perspective, with Silver Storm introducing an international-standard cable car experience. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will inaugurate the cable cars at Silver Storm on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 4 PM.

The new aerial journey, designed to showcase the enchanting forests and natural splendour of Athirappilly, has been developed as Sky Storm. The spectacular range of cable cars at Silver Storm will be dedicated to the public by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan at a ceremony attended by several prominent personalities.

The inauguration of Jungle Storm, completed with state-of-the-art facilities, will be performed by Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty. Ministers P.C. Vishnunath, Roji M. John and O.J. Janish, Benny Behanan MP, Saneesh Kumar Joseph MLA and District Collector Shikha Surendran IAS will also attend the function.

The cable car route has been designed to offer more than 5,000 visitors every day an exciting and novel aerial travel experience. The cable cars provide sweeping views of the Western Ghats forest region, Silver Storm Park and the scenic Chalakudy River, allowing visitors to take in the beauty of Athirappilly to their heart’s content.

Sky Storm presents cable cars equipped with technology claimed to be superior to that used in cable car systems in Switzerland and Singapore, adding an extraordinary new dimension to the Athirappilly tourism experience.

Jungle Storm – Forest Village

The captivating aerial journey leads visitors to the fascinating Forest Village, a destination filled with new experiences centred on the region’s environmental wealth. Jungle Storm features dense trees, walking trails, a tribal hut, a wide variety of birds and animals from around the world, an aquarium and abundant plant life.

The Forest Village promises visitors a unique combination of entertainment, knowledge and mental relaxation. It also offers numerous opportunities to capture memorable photographs that can be cherished for years.

With more than a quarter-century of experience and recognition in the tourism sector, Silver Storm has established itself as a major name with ambitions that extend across the national tourism landscape. In 2025, it launched a Snow Park in Jamshedpur, while a Family Entertainment and Snow Park is set to open soon in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. With these developments, Silver Storm is expanding its presence into North India’s tourism sector.

Development projects worth more than Rs 150 crore are currently underway at Silver Storm. In addition to its various rides, two more restaurants with high-quality infrastructure have been opened to provide enhanced services for visitors.

More than 15 million people have already visited Silver Storm. With 25 newly introduced rides, eight high-thrill water rides and seven adventure amusement rides being presented together, Silver Storm at Athirappilly is described as the first park in India to bring all these experiences together.

Silver Storm is also set to claim the distinction of being India’s only tourist destination bringing a water theme park, snow park, cable car, forest village and resorts under one roof, according to Managing Director A.I. Shalimar.
