Pathanamthitta: Hours after two human sacrifices surfaced in Kerala, an occult practice involving children reported in Pathanamthitta district of the state on Thursday.

Police detained a woman tantric who used a child for the necromantic practice during which the child fell unconscious, according to India Today.

The woman identified as Shobana alias Vasanthi was based in Malayalapuzha town of the district.

The residents in her neighbourhood protested that despite complaint, the Malayalapuzha police had not taken any action against the tantric.

Protesters said they would not back away until the tantric was arrested, adding that she threatened to curse anybody opposing her.

Following the protest, police took Vasanthi into custody and said that her methods could be confirmed only after quizzing her.

The two cases of human sacrifice were reported in Kochi the other day leaving the state in shock.

A tantric lured two unsuspecting women into ritual killing them one by one as part of sacrifice ritual before cutting up their bodies and burying the pieces in several places.
