All venues open for entry at Kochi-Muziris Biennale
text_fieldsKochi: Art enthusiasts can visit all venues of the 5th edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale from Friday (December 23). A flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the main venue, Aspinwall House, at 12 noon. Following this, curator Shubigi Rao will lead a 'Walkthrough', that will be attended by all participants, including the artists. They will hold interactions while experiencing the various categories of artworks, installations, and exhibitions.
The public will be allowed entry from morning 10 am itself. Based on the theme 'In our veins flow ink and fire', various art fests will be held at different venues till April 10, in which 87 art creations belonging to artists from 40 countries will be put on display. Discussions and workshops will be held as part of the Biennale, which will also host various cultural programmes.
Entry to the Biennale is from 10 am to 7 pm daily. The ticket price is Rs 150. Students and senior citizens are eligible for concession. The charges will be Rs 50 and Rs 100 per person, respectively. The ticket price for a week is Rs1000 and for a month Rs 4000. Entry to the 'Idam' venue at Durbar Hall Art Gallery is free.
The various programmes already open to the public from December 12 as part of the KMB, like the Students Biennale, the Idam exhibition by eminent artists from Kerala, and invited art exhibitions, among others, have drawn a huge response from the visitors. Art Rooms as part of the 'Art By Children' programme are also open at Njarackal and Kadamakkudy. The 5th edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the 12th of this month.
