Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 8516 more persons tested coronvirus positive in Kerala on Wednesday after 71,270 more samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that 8,206 more persons also tested negative for the virus in the southern state.
The active cases total 84,995, whereas 3,72,951 others have been cured. The day saw 28 more COVID-19 deaths, taking the state's death toll to 1,587.
Across the state, 302063 people are kept under observation, including 20963 in various hospitals. There were 638 corona hotspots in the state as 24 places were delisted.
