Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala state government on Friday postponed all examinations including university examinations as well as SSLC and higher secondary examinations.

A high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan took the decision.

Earlier the government had faced severe criticism from Opposition including Congress and BJP for its plan to go ahead with exams, which the opposition termed as a ‘suicidal step’.

Meanwhile, UGC in a circular issued on Thursday asked universities and affiliated colleges to put off exams till March 31.

Eventually, the state government also decided to go by the UGC directive postponing exams to till March 31.
