We reject solar scam report in toto: Congress
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Congress Thursday said it rejected "in toto" a report on Keralas solar scam by a judicial commission, which found that former chief minister Oomen Chandy and his staff provided all help to accused Saritha S Nair and her company to dupe people.
Speaking to reporters here, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, however, said that Chandy and others named in the report are "more than willing" to face trial in this connection "to expose" the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
Surjewala also accused the LDF of levelling "false and baseless allegations" against the Congress leaders from the southern state and sought to know why the report was allegedly detained for long.
"We reject the report in toto. But in the interest of fair play and justice, we will face any trial that will take place. Mr Oommen Chandy and all other leaders will prove their innocence and am sure the conspiracy of the LDF government will stand exposed," he said.
Defending Chandy, Surjewala also said that the formers "integrity, sincerity and honesty" was beyond doubt.
Vijayan tabled the report earlier in the day at a special session convened for the purpose in state assembly. The commission also recommended a probe into various allegations raised in a letter written by Saritha under CrPC, IPC and other related rules, Vijayan said.
