Kannur: Police have arrested five persons in connection with the lynching of a youth near Thiruvatoor near Pariyaram here.
Wayanad natives Naushad, Shihab, Abdullakutty, Siraj and Munas were arrested on Friday.
In a brutal incident, 38-year old Abduul Khadar was found brutally beaten to death near Wayad Ground Wednesday morning.
An accused in several theft cases in the region, Khadar’s half-naked body was found lying on the road with both the legs tide to rope. There were several bruises and injuries on the body.
It was believed that the locals had manhandled him after catching him red-handed.
As per reports, the mob lynching took place somewhere else and the body was dumped near Pariyaram.
