Cinematographer U.R Anandakuttan dies

Kochi: U.R Anandakuttan, one of the best Cinematographers of Malayalam Cinema, died at a private hospital here on Sunday.

He was 61 and was undergoing treatment for cancer.

Born to Ramakrishnan Nair and Karthiyayani Amma at Changanassery, Kottayam, Anandakuttan went to madras for studying cinematography after completing Pre-dgree. His first film as a Cinematographer was P Chandrakumar's "Manasiloru Mayil" in 1977.

In a career spanning close to four decades, he cranked the camera for over 150 films including His Highness Abdulla, Bharatham, and Sadayam.

He is survived by his wife Geetha and three daughters.
