Gulf countries report new Covid-19 cases, deaths

Riyadh:  Saudi Arabia reported seven deaths due to Covid-19,  six foreigners and one national;  of the six foreigners, with age ranging from 23 to 69,  four died in Makkah and two in Jeddah. 

The Saudi national who died in Jeddah was aged 69.   This takes the total deaths due to Covid to 12.

A total of 1,158 cases were reported on Thursday of which 15 per cent are nationals.  The number of Indians who died of Covid has risen to 11.

Meanwhile registration has started for expatriates who wanted to return home .  However,  Indians will not be eligible for this facility in the initial stage.

UAE:  518 new cases of Covid were confirmed on Thursday., crossing 500 for the first time on a single day.   The total number of infected patients is now 8,756.  Four more deaths occurred on Thursday taking the toll so far to 56.

OMAN: Sultanate of Oman had 102 new Covid cases-19 on Thursday, the total touching 1,716.  Of this 69 are foreigners and 33 nationals.

107 have recovered so far.   Thre have been eight deaths in total including one from Kerala.

KUWAIT:  151 new Covid-19 ases were confirmed on Thursday,  including 61 Indians.  A 41-year old died of Covid, taking the total deaths to 14. 

So far Kuwait has  2,399 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

BAHRAIN:  A 36-year old foreigner who had been confirmed with Covid-19,  died on Thursday.  The total death toll  became eight.  71 new cases were confirmed on Thursday.

QATAR: 623 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Thursday.  There were 61 recoveries on the day.  The total recovered patients are 750.  The country has had 10 Covid-19 related deaths so far.
