Prayagraj: A video of a woman offering Namaz at a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj created a sense of hate by the uploader, who called it an illegal act in the public space, prompting the UP police to order a probe into the incident.

Though the police later came out saying no offence has been done by the woman in the video, the hospital authority is said to have warned the woman against such activity.

The woman seen in the video was a bystander of a patient admitted to the hospital. When the video went viral with wrong intentions, social media reacted to it asking what was wrong in offering prayers for their loved ones' well-being.

There are also comments about the turn of incidents of such hate being spread on social media, pointing to a hazardous environment toward which the country is heading.

The Prayagraj Police initially said a probe is on, and then tweeted: "Inquiry found that the woman in the video was offering namaz without any wrong intentions, and without obstructing any work or traffic, for quick recovery of the patient. This act does not fall into any category of crime." Some news wrongly reported that a case was registered.

The Prayagraj Police who said a probe was on into the incident, later tweeted "the offering of namaz by the woman found in the video has been found to have done without any wrong intention, nor did she obstruct others work or movement, was praying for the recovery of the patient, because of that, not a crime."
