Woman caught in Bengaluru with Rs 1.75L worth of gold in bra
text_fieldsBengaluru: Customs captured a woman at Kempegowda International Airport for carrying gold worth Rs 17.5 lakh in the padding of a bra, The Times of India reported.
The woman arrived from Dubai on October 8, and she was behaving peculiarly at the airport while the officers were running passenger profiling at the arrival bay.
The woman was seen as tense and gave evasive replies to the woman officers who attended and questioned her. The officers removed her from the bay after they noticed something wrong with her bra. Later, an inspection of her revealed that she was carrying gold worth Rs 17,53,630 inserted inside the padding of her bra. The footage featured shows the officials cutting open the bra to find gold paste inserted into the padding.
Meanwhile, another incident featured a man who landed from Abu Dhabi on October 16 with gold paste worth Rs 44,37,453 fitted in his brief with bandages around his waist, TOI reported.
Also, a recent haul captured, gold valued at Rs 1.36 crore, was seized from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. The person was coming from Dubai on flight 6E 025 on January 21. The officials detected and seized 2,715.800 grams of gold items. Gold chains and gold in paste form were concealed inside hand baggage and check-in baggage, The News Minute reports.
