New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will surrender on Sunday as the interim bail granted to him by the Supreme Court ends on June 2.

Arvind Kejriwal told a press conference today that he will leave his house at 3 pm on Sunday, NDTV reported.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested him on March 21 in a corruption case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.

"The day after tomorrow, I will leave my house around 3 pm to surrender. We are fighting against tyranny, and if I have to sacrifice my life for the country, do not mourn," Kejriwal added.

During the fifty days of imprisonment, he said his health deteriorated leading to substantial weight loss giving rise to health concerns and alleged that he was denied medication for diabetes.

"I was in jail for 50 days, and in those 50 days, I lost 6 kilos... Even after being released, I have not regained my weight," he said.

Promising to continue initiatives like free electricity, Mohalla clinics, hospitals, free medicines, and women's free bus travel, he added that welfare of the people in Delhi remains his top priority.

He said. "I may not be with you physically, but your work will not stop." Kejriwal requested people to pray for the well-being of his elderly parents.

The Enforcement Directorate accused Kejriwal of having played key role in liquor policy case and alleged that the AAP of received kickbacks of ₹ 100 crore in return for liquor licences.

The AAP and Mr Kejriwal dismissed all charges and called the arrest as part of a ‘political vendetta’.
