New Delhi: At a general discussion on Sustainable Development at the UN on February 24 one woman stood out, thanks largely to her saffron sari and turban-looking dreadlocks.

Wearing tika on her forehead and a matching rudraksha around her neck, she gave a speech in English at the Geneva office of the United Nations, according to India Today.

She grabbed eyeballs rather quickly, setting off discussions surrounding her identity.

Shortly afterwards, a photo of hers was posted on the Twitter handle of controversial guru Nithyananda—now the mystery gave way to wonderment.

Because, Nithyananda, who is facing rape and kidnapping charges in India, claimed to have sent a delegation representing his fictitious country to the UN conference.

The woman, fashionably wearing saffron sari and dreadlocks, led the delegation from 'United State of Kailasa' established Nithyananda.

A statement from the ‘virtual sovereign state’ this week said the United States of Kailasa was represented at the UN by ‘ Ma Vijayapriya Nithyananda’, who is their Permanent Ambassador.

Lofty claims of Nithyananda apart, there is no evidence to prove the nation’s actual existence on the map.

During the UN convention, Vijayapriya Nithyananda alleged that India persecutes her supreme guru for “reviving Hindu traditions".

Vijayapriya sought what measures could be taken at the national and international level to stop the persecution of Nithyananda and the 20 million Hindus in Kailasa, according to India Today.

However, the United Nations on Wednesday said it had not taken into consideration the inputs provided by the 'Kailasa' representatives.

Vijayapriya Nithyananda made the comments when the floor was opened to the public, said the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The Facebook account of Kailasa claimed Vijapriya to be its permanent ambassador to UN while she described herself a resident of Washington DC City in the United States.

The website of 'Kailasa' also claimed that Vijayapriya Nithyananda entered into pacts with organisations on behalf of the country.

A video reportedly showed Vijayapriya as signing agreements with some American officials.

Meanwhile, Vijayapriya Nithyananda claims that Kailasa has opened embassies and NGOs in several countries of the world.

Vijayapriya called Nithyananda as her guru in another video posted on Nithyananda's verified account, and described the guru ‘as the source of her life’.
