Lucknow: A student preparing for a national competitive exam died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow accusing three policemen of ‘harassment’.

The suicide note left behind by the victim, identified as Ashish Kumar, also said there was attempt to ‘falsely implicating’ him in a case.

Kumar has taken the extreme step while he was preparing for UPSC examination in Lucknow, NDTV reported citing police.

"He left behind a suicide note, in which he alleged that he was being harassed by the three policemen and was falsely implicated in a case, leaving him with no other option but to end his life," officials were quoted as saying .

The three official facing the allegation, according to DCP West Lucknow Rahul Raj, were transferred to police lines for fair probe after the deceased’s family lodged a complaint.

DCP acknowledged that the family of the student handed to the police a suicide note, mentioning the names of three policemen.

‘ACP Malihabad has been instructed to investigate the matter and the suicide note will also be examined,’ DCP said.

Adding that further details are being probed, DCP said three policemen were transferred to police lines ‘so that the investigation can be conducted in a fair manner.’
