Hyderabad: Two men faced a brutal assault from 15-20 Bajrang Dal members on Sunday evening along Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road in the Vanasthalipuram Police Station limits, Malkajgiri Commissionerate, for allegedly transporting cattle.

The victims—driver Mirza Haroon Baig and Moin Bagh resident Mohammed Taher—were stopped while carrying two calves. Despite Haroon showing a bill, the right-wing group physically attacked both, as captured in social media videos.

Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjedullah Khan alleged that when the duo approached Vanasthalipuram Police, officers booked them instead, seized their vehicle, and sent the calves to a gaushala. Khan questioned Haroon’s brother in a video, who clarified that Haroon reluctantly agreed to transport the calves at Taher’s request, intending to care for them until Bakrid.

Taher was released after Khan contacted police, but Haroon remained detained initially. Khan confronted Vanasthalipuram Police Inspector and Assistant Commissioner, demanding clarity on any blanket ban for cattle transport in Telangana. “How can the police inspector not differentiate between a cow and an ox? The Vanasthalipuram Police Station has turned into an RSS hub,” he charged.

Khan urged registering a case against Bajrang Dal assailants, medical checks for the injured, and dropping wrongful charges if no violation occurred. “This is not an isolated incident; allowing private groups to take the law into their own hands seriously undermines the rule of law in Telangana,” he warned.
