BJP MP Bandi Sanjay.

Hyderabad: Against the hate speech deliverance by Telangana BJP head Bandi Sanjay, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) filed police complaints on Thursday, IANS reported.

Regarding the hate speech that happened on Wednesday, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) urged the Telangana government to take action against the Sanjay. Muslim leaders in the Congress of all 33 districts of Telangana also decided to file complaints against the BJP leader, IANS reports.

Mentioning the speech, which made provocative comments against Muslims, Madrasas and Mosques, the TRS members filed two separate complaints against the Karimnagar MP Sanjay.

TRS said on Twitter that because the BJP government has not done anything for Telangana in the last eight years, Sanjay was spreading hate.

Telangana Congress' Minorities Department Chairman Abdullah Sohail Shaik alleged that the police should have taken suo moto note of the hate speech and registered a case but no action was taken as the ruling TRS "has a secret understanding with the BJP".

He further said that Sanjay is desperate to get public attention by making highly provocative statements. First, the BJP leader targeted the four per cent reservation for Muslims and Urdu language, and he was now demanding the digging under all mosques, Shaik said.

During the Hindu Ekta Yarta in Karimnagar on Wednesday, Sanjay said in his speech that Muslim rulers in Telangana demolished several temples and built mosques over them. He demanded digging work at all mosques, saying there was a possibility of finding Shiva Lingams underneath. He further proclaimed that if BJP came to power in Telangana, it would abolish all madrasas, do away with reservations for Muslims, and remove Urdu as the second official language.
