Tihar authorities not allowing Sunita Kejriwal to meet Kejriwal: AAP
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party has claimed that Tihar jail authorities have denied permission to Sunita Kejriwal to meet her husband Arvind Kejriwal on Monday in jail.
Meanwhile, the jail authorities cited Delhi Minister Atishi is having a meeting with Kejriwal on Monday as a reason, report said based on inputs from sources.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will visit Kejriwal on Tuesday, the report said adding that jail rules allow two people to meet a jailed person at a time.
AAP's Organisation General Secretary Sandeep Pathak accompanied Mann when he visited Kejriwal in Tihar on April 15.
Jail sources reportedly said that Sunita Kejriwal would be allowed to meet her husband after Tuesday, following his meeting with Atishi and Bhagwant Mann.
This is nevertheless the fact that jail rules allow only two visits a week; as them, Arvind Kejriwal cannot have any visitors for the week after meeting Atishi on Monday and Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday.
Given this, it is likely that Sunita Kejriwal will have to wait till next week to meet him.
Kejriwal has been in jail since April 1 following his arrest on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
