Threatens to blast Kumbh Mela: Class 11 student held in Bihar

Mahakumbh Nagar/UP: In a case of threat to blast the Maha Kumbh Mela, which is to start in Prayagraj on January 13, a class 11 student has been detained by the Uttar Pradesh Police from Bihar's Purnia district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Kumbh), Rajesh Dwivedi, said the 17-year-old student, who was brought to Prayagraj on Sunday for questioning, has been sent to a remand home, PTI reported.
The accused allegedly created a fake Instagram profile in the name of one of his classmates to settle a score and posted provocative content from it, including a threat to kill 1,000 devotees at the Maha Kumbh, the SSP said.
Police took up the probe after filing a case at the Mela Kotwali police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act, he added.
News portal NewsX reported that the arrested student had been identified as Ayush Kumar Jaiswal, and he intended to frame his classmate and neighbour Nasir Pathan. On his fake Instagram ID he created, Jaiswal threatened that a blast would kill 1,000 people at the Mela.
Maha Kumbh Police formed three teams to probe the threat and traced the IP address. Police said that Jaiswal wanted to create suspicion around Pathan, get him arrested and send him to jail. He escaped to Nepal first, but he was arrested after he came back to India and stayed in Bihar.
