The Union Health Ministry on Friday said that ten states, including Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, account for 73.05 per cent COVID-19 cases in a day. The other states are Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.

With a net increase of 85,414 infections, the nation's active caseload has now crossed 31.7 lakhs. India had also, however, completed its highest number of tests in a single day, numbering at 19,20,107. The ministry also claims the mortality rate has dropped to 1.11 per cent. The last 24 hours saw a total of 3498 deaths. The ministry also pointed to the toll-free helpline for mental health support run by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS), available at (080-4611 0007) to address issues regarding mental health and provide psychosocial support during the pandemic.
