New Delhi: A 37-year-old lawmaker of Telangna Assembly died on Friday in a road accident in Hyderabad after her vehicle lost control.

First time MLA Lasya Nandita of Bharat Rashtra Samithi died in the hospital after she was rushed in there for emergency care.

A grievously injured driver is currently receiving medical treatment, NDTV reported.

Only ten days before had Lasya survived another accident at Narkatpally with minor injuries.

On February 13, she was heading to Nalgonda to attend a rally when the accident occurred killing her home guard.

Lasya Nandita, an emergent leader in the state politics, had previously been a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward after entering politics just a decade ago.

She became an MLA for Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.

Taking to social media platform X, Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao expressed grief over Nandita's untimely death.

Lasya emerged as a promising leader to carry forward her father G Sayanna's legacy who died last year.
