New Delhi: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT firm, announced on Wednesday that it has secured an add-on Advance Purchase Order (APO) worth approximately Rs 2,903 crore from state-owned telecom operator BSNL.

The order is for planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and annual maintenance of a 4G mobile network at 18,685 sites, TCS said in a regulatory filing.

TCS stated that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will issue detailed purchase orders in due course, contingent upon the fulfilment of specified conditions and documentation outlined in the APO.

In a separate filing, Tejas Networks confirmed that, under its master contract with Tata Consultancy Services for the BSNL 4G project, TCS has notified it of receiving an add-on advance purchase order from BSNL for the supply, deployment, and maintenance of the 4G mobile network.

"The value of supplies for Radio Access Network (RAN) and other equipment to TCS from Tejas for this deployment is expected to be approximately Rs 1,525.53 crore, exclusive of taxes," Tejas said.

The detailed purchase orders for the same would be issued by TCS to the company in due course, subject to completion of certain conditions and documentation, according to Tejas.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services firm, reported a 1.7% decline in net profit for the March quarter, totalling Rs 12,224 crore, primarily due to margin contraction. Despite this, the company’s Q4 FY25 revenue rose 5.3% year-on-year to Rs 64,479 crore.

For the full year FY25, TCS' net profit stood at Rs 48,553 crore.

The IT heavyweight wrapped up the fiscal FY25 with a full-year topline growth of 5.99 per cent at Rs 2,55,324 crore.

It is pertinent to mention here that in 2023, a consortium led by TCS bagged an advance purchase order valued at over Rs 15,000 crore from BSNL for deploying a 4G network across India. Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, was a part of that consortium for supplying and servicing the radio access network (RAN) equipment.
