Talk about the real issues: Tejashwi Yadav's plea to Modi with folded hands
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Reacting to the Prime Minister’s controversial speech in Rajasthan that the Congress will ‘distribute assets among infiltrators’, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav appealed to PM Modi to set aside the politics of hate, NDTV reported.
The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar was quoted as saying: ‘I have only this to say to the Prime Minister... and I say this with folded hands. Please talk about the real issues and set aside this politics of hate. The nation's youth and elderly, farmers and businessmen, and mothers and sisters... all people have the same issues.’
Yadav told reporters in Patna that people wanted jobs to overcome poverty and rising cost of living, adding ‘so again I ask the Prime Minister to discuss these real issues and tell us, in the past 10 years, what you have done for the country and for Bihar.’
Coming down heavily on PM Modi, Yadav said rather than talking about his vision for Bihar and the nation, the Prime Minister was talking about temples and Muslims.
PM Modi’s speech in Rajasthan’s Banswara at the weekend kicked up a storm with the Opposition and civil society activists calling out it.
While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi termed it ‘lies’, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said Modi’s guarantee is to ‘abuse Muslims’.
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the Prime Minister's "lies".
Campaigning in Banswara on Sunday PM Modi criticised the Congress manifesto saying they will not even leave your 'mangalsutra', adding that ‘they will calculate the gold with mothers and sisters and then distribute that property. They will distribute it to whom - Manmohan Singh's government had said Muslims have first right on assets."
"Earlier, when their government was in power, they said Muslims have the first right on the country's assets. This means to whom will this property be distributed? It will be distributed among those who have more children. It will be distributed to the infiltrators. Should your hard-earned money go to the infiltrators? Do you approve of this?" he reportedly said.
