New Delhi: A passenger in Vande Bharat Express faces a demeaning experience after he received stale food during his journey in the most celebrated superfast train service by the Narendra Modi government. The passenger, identified as Akash Keshari, took his experience to X with visuals and tagged the official accounts of Indian Railways, Vande Bharat Express and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, NDTV reported.

In the caption for his post, he expressed his disappointment. Vande Bharat was a flagship project of Modi-led Central government, putting effort to align Indian Railways to international standards, and instances like these are only corroding the country's reputation.

He said that he was travelling from New Delhi to Varanasi. The food he was served was dirty and stale. He requested a refund of all the money, adding that the vendor who served the food was spoiling the brand name of Vande Bharat.

"Hi sir I am in journey with 22416 from NDLS to BSB. Food that was served now is smelling and very dirty food quality. Kindly refund my all the money.. These vendor are spoiling the brand name of Vande Bharat express," his post read.

Among the videos he posted, one showed the passengers asking the train staff to take away the trays that contained stale food. Another showed the close-up of the food he was served, which was packed in tin foil.

His post has gathered widespread attention on the platform, including the Indian Railways. It replied that

His complaint has been registered on RailMadad, and the complaint number has been sent through SMS on his mobile. Railways requested him to share his PNR number and mobile number by Direct Message for further assistance, NDTV reports.

On its official account, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) stated their apology for Keshari's unpleasant experience.
