Security forces on high alert as 250-300 terrorists await infiltration at border: BSF official

According to a top Border Security Force (BSF) officer, approximately 250 to 300 terrorists are currently stationed at launchpads across the border, with intentions to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir.
The Inspector General of BSF, Ashok Yadav, shared these details on Saturday, emphasising that security forces were on high alert and prepared to thwart any attempts of cross-border infiltration.
Yadav, speaking to reporters in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, highlighted the vigilance and preparedness of both BSF and Army personnel in securing vulnerable areas along the border to counter potential infiltration efforts.
"We have received intelligence inputs indicating the presence of 250-300 terrorists at launchpads. However, our joint efforts with the Army have effectively secured vulnerable points, and we are fully prepared," stated Yadav.
Expressing confidence in their capabilities, Yadav assured that they were well-equipped to intercept any infiltration endeavours initiated by these groups.
He also underscored the growing rapport between the security forces and the people of Kashmir over recent years, stressing the importance of cooperation in furthering developmental activities in the region.
"As our relationship with the local populace strengthens, there is an opportunity to progress with developmental initiatives if there is continued cooperation," Yadav remarked.
The heightened alertness and coordinated efforts between security forces aim to counter any potential security threats along the border areas, especially with the knowledge of the substantial presence of armed individuals waiting to infiltrate the region.
