Aviation regulatory DCGA said on Friday informed the extension of the COVID-19 induced suspension of scheduled international passenger flights till June 30, given the second wave of COVID-19 in the country.

"However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis," DCGA said. The suspension would not impact international all-cargo operations or flights approved by it.

Scheduled international passenger services have been suspended in India due to the pandemic since March 23, 2020. Special international flights have been operating since May 2020 under the Vande Bharat mission to and from select 27 select countries, including the US, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France.
