New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to Bhojpuri singer-satirist Neha Singh Rathore in a Lucknow FIR over her social media post on the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, making January 7 interim protection absolute.

A bench of Justices JK Maheshwari and AS Chandurkar ruled in her favor after Allahabad High Court twice denied relief—first quashing the FIR, then anticipatory bail—citing her "disrespectful" PM comments timed post-attack.

Rathore faces Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita charges for endangering national unity, promoting enmity, plus Information Technology Act violations. Her video blamed BJP-led Centre's intelligence and security lapses. She had also claimed in the video that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would seek votes in Bihar in the name of the attack just as he allegedly did after the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

She approached courts after the complaint, with SC initially shielding her from arrest before finalizing bail.
