RSS-BJP built system to steal polls, face people’s wrath: Rahul Gandhi

Gurgaon: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-RSS of creating a system to rig elections, warning they will face public anger no matter how many polls they steal.

Speaking at the ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ led by Haryana Congress leader Brijendra Singh—his first address since recent Assembly results—he said only Congress can stand against them and defeat Narendra Modi, then act on his attacks against democracy, the Constitution, and people’s rights. “The Congress will defeat Narendra Modi and then you see what action we take against him. He has attacked the country, democracy, Constitution and your rights… He has finished democracy and we won’t forget this no matter what. There are two ideologies: RSS and Congress. Hatred and love. All the other parties will not be able to stand against them. In the end, it will be the Congress standing against them and will defeat them.”

Mr Gandhi alleged the BJP stole elections in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Assam by deleting and adding lakhs of voter names, with the Election Commission and bureaucracy under control. “They have created a system to steal elections. Lakhs of names are deleted and added. The EC is under their control, and so is the bureaucracy. They think their rule will not be stopped, but their time is coming,” he said.

“No matter how many elections you have to steal you may do, but you will have to face the anger which is there in the people. And people decide in India what is going to happen,” he said.

He claimed Modi and Amit Shah sell national assets like airports, ports, power plants, and Nicobar Islands to Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, “Modi and Amit Shah have been selling the country — airports, ports, infrastructure, power plants and now Nicobar Islands. They are selling it all to (Gautam) Adani. Your wealth is being given to Adani-Ambani.”

Attacking the India-US trade deal as evidence of Modi being controlled, he said it was signed under pressure, opening agriculture to US farmers and ruining Indian ones, while handing over data, conversations, medical records, and tying oil purchases to Donald Trump’s approval. Mr Gandhi further alleged Modi’s “history and character” appears in 30.5 lakh Jeffrey Epstein files, and Adani’s US criminal case implicates Modi, “Modi and Adani are the same. The company should be called Modani.”

Reiterating his Bharat Jodo Yatra slogan of opening a “shop of love in the market of hatred,” he declared: “This slogan is needed even today.”
