Mumbai: The Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj, an umbrella body of Hindu organisations in Mumbai on Sunday that called for laws against religious conversions and alleged ‘love jihad’ besides urging people to stop buying goods from shops owned by Muslims, was held with the presence of several senior BJP leaders and members of Maharashtra government.

BJP MLA and the party’s Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar, BJP MP from Mumbai North Gopal Shetty, BJP MP from Mumbai North East Manoj Kotak, MLC Pravin Darekar, BJP secretary Vinod Shelar, and Sheetal Mhatre, former corporator and now a member of Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena attended the mega rally, which has seen the participation of approximately 10,000 to 12,000 people, according to The Indian Express.

Hindu organisations, including RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Sanatan Sangha, Vanvasi Kalyan, Rajput Youth Front, Karni Sena and All India Maheshwar Samaj were said to have held about 30 rallies across Maharashtra under the banner of the Sakal Hindu Samaj.

Attending the rally, BJP MLA Shelar said that people attended the rally in large numbers to express their sadness in the form of protests against the ‘Love Jihad’ that tear Hindu women to pieces. He also assured the crowd that the government is expected to take a decision at the right time against the love jihad and land jihad.

T Raja Singh, MLA and suspended BJP leader, who addressed the rally urged the Hindus to boycott goods from shops that are owned by the members of the Muslim community as a means of reducing Muslim domination.
