Jaipur: A Rajasthan court on Monday admitted a petition filed by the Maharana Pratap Sena alleging the existence of a Shiva temple within the Ajmer Dargah complex. The Ajmer Civil Court scheduled the next hearing for February 21, issuing notices to the state government, Archaeology Department, and Dargah Committee.

The plea, filed by national president Rajvardhan Singh Parmar through Supreme Court advocate Dr AP Singh, claims a Shivling of Lord Mahadev exists within the premises, supported by maps, surveys, photographs, and 1.25 lakh public affidavits collected statewide.

Parmar expressed readiness to provide additional proof if required. The organisation cited a prior statewide march that garnered widespread support for the claim.

This follows a similar November 27, 2024 petition by Hindu Sena's Vishnu Gupta alleging a Sankat Mochan Mahadev temple at the site, which was also admitted with notices issued.

The Dargah Committee's related application will be heard alongside both petitions on February 21. The case revives long-standing claims often raised by right-wing groups about religious structures within the Sufi shrine premises.
