Punjabi mom goes viral for Mother's Day requests, does not want expensive gifts

New Delhi: At a time when suggestions for Mother's Day gifts have taken over the internet, a Punjabi mom has gone viral for rejecting expensive gifts and making simpler demands from her children. She has asked her kids to stay away from social media for the day and do household chores to make her happy.
The video was shared by Sonia Katri who is speaking to the camera. She said she does not wish for any Gucci or Prada products. She says that the gifts children give her should be something that makes her happy. The mom goes on to tell the kids to wake up at six o'clock and pray. She also asked children to stop online shopping and order food from hotels. She demanded that no parcel should arrive at home for a whole week.
In the end, she also says that the biggest gift she wants is for her child to get married. She further says that if she herself had thought "What is so special about getting married", the child would not be here now. She also said that she wants to be a grandma.
While several users agreed with the mother's demands and said that all children should listen to this, others said that the mother is acting like a jailer.
