New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government, accusing them of unleashing a police crackdown on citizens and declaring war on constitutional rights.

At a press conference following their release from custody, CJP leaders alleged that Delhi had descended into a state of open police repression, with protesters and journalists facing intimidation for exercising democratic freedoms, according to reports.

Co-convenor Saurav Das likened the situation to an undeclared Emergency, condemning the detention of spokesperson Abhijeet Dipke and other party members inside an aircraft immediately after they landed at the airport. He accused the police of acting in a manner resembling abduction and violating fundamental rights, including freedom of movement and the right to protest.

Das also demanded accountability from Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the heavy security deployment to suppress demonstrations in the national capital.

The party launched another salvo against the Election Commission of India, accusing the constitutional body of surrendering its independence to Modi. CJP leaders vowed to intensify their campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged corruption, insisting that the fight was far from over.

The crackdown on journalists drew further condemnation, with CJP alleging that police obstructed reporters, including women displaying press credentials, and seized their mobile phones. The party accused the authorities of attempting to choke independent journalism and silence coverage of the protests.

Despite the arrests and restrictions, CJP leaders vowed to continue their agitation, warning that attempts to crush dissent would not end their campaign for democratic rights and institutional accountability.
