PM Modi slams Lalu Yadav over fodder scam, highlights farmers’ welfare in Bihar rally
text_fieldsWith the Bihar assembly elections on the horizon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, criticising him over the infamous fodder scam.
Addressing a rally in Bhagalpur, PM Modi stated that those who "embezzled fodder meant for animals" cannot be expected to work for the welfare of farmers.
The Prime Minister also took aim at RJD leaders for their remarks on the ongoing Maha Kumbh, asserting that those who endorse "jungle raj" have no respect for India's heritage and faith.
"More people than the entire population of Europe have participated in this Maha Kumbh. Yet, those associated with jungle raj continue to criticise this sacred event. The same people who opposed the Ram temple are now using every opportunity to defame the Maha Kumbh. I am confident that the people of Bihar will not forgive them for this," PM Modi said.
During his speech, PM Modi underscored the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's commitment to farmers' welfare, both at the Centre and in Bihar. He emphasised that schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have benefited farmers nationwide and would not have been implemented under a different leadership.
While releasing the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, the Prime Minister highlighted the growth in agricultural exports, attributing it to the government's efforts.
"This has helped farmers secure better prices for their produce. Many agricultural products are now being exported for the first time. It is now Bihar’s turn to shine with its Makhana (foxnuts), a superfood that should reach global markets," he stated.
PM Modi also announced the establishment of a Makhana Board, which was included in this year's Union Budget. He assured that the initiative would be implemented soon, ensuring better opportunities for Bihar’s farmers.
