PM Modi joins Christmas morning service at Delhi church
text_fieldsPrime Minister Narendra Modi began his Christmas Day by attending a morning service at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption in Delhi on Thursday.
The service, which was attended by a huge number of Christians from Delhi and north India, included prayers, hymns, and carols. Rt. Rev. Dr Paul Swarup, Bishop of Delhi, also said a special prayer for the Prime Minister.
“Attended the Christmas morning service at The Cathedral Church of the Redemption in Delhi. The service reflected the timeless message of love, peace and compassion. May the spirit of Christmas inspire harmony and goodwill in our society,” Modi wrote in a post on X, Indian Express reported.
PM Modi took to the microblogging site and greeted citizens on the occasion and said: “Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas filled with peace, compassion and hope. May the teachings of Jesus Christ strengthen harmony in our society.”
Modi has attended numerous Christian-related events in recent years.
Vice President C P Radhakrishnan offered his greetings to the people on Christmas: “Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas, overflowing with hope, love, and kindness. May Christ’s message inspire us to build stronger, more caring communities, and may his teachings strengthen our bonds and promote lasting peace,” he wrote on X.
