Amaravati: Members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) have come into the focus of the National Investigation Agency as it raided multiple places in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

NIA officials in 23 teams simultaneously searched locations in Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts, according to India Today.

A house in Telangana's Nizamabad district was raided alongside summoning a man to NIA office in Hyderabad on Monday.

The report added that PFI members have been picked up for quizzing to investigate "violence and illegal activities".

While the searches werereportedly carried out following information on terrorist activities, NIA officials have taken into custody the outfit's district convener Shadullah and others including Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Abdul Mobin.

As the raids were underway in Nandyal and Kurnool, locals came out in protest against officials asking them to return.

NIA officials raided the house of a man named Shahid Chousih in Telangana's Nizamabad district seizing his passport and bank passbooks.

The official searched the house of a man identified as Illyaz in Khaja Nagar area of Nellore district's Buchireddypalem town and the man has reportedly been missing for the last three months.

Ilyaz who runs tiffin shop in Khaja Nagar allegedly is associated with terrorist-activities.
