Peed on co-flyer: Man gets ban from Air India
text_fieldsMumbai: Air India banned a passenger from flying for urinating on a fellow passenger's body. The airline company has placed the passenger on its no-fly list for 30 days. Its officials said that a final decision on further action will be taken after an internal investigation. An Air India standing committee has also been formed to investigate the passenger's misconduct and take further action.
It was on Wednesday the passenger urinated on a fellow passenger onboard an Air India flight AI233 from Delhi to Bangkok. The crew had to intervene after a passenger engaged in what Air India has officially termed “unruly behaviour,” The Indian Express reported.
The drunken passenger urinated on the body of the managing director of a company. The airline staff said that the passenger did not obey despite several warnings on the flight. The airline has reported the matter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and promised further investigation, according to TIE.
“Air India confirms that an incident of unruly passenger behaviour was reported to the cabin crew operating flight AI2336, from Delhi to Bangkok, on April 9, 2025,” the airline said in a statement. “The crew followed all laid down procedures, and the matter has been reported to the authorities.”
Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu promised that if there was any wrongdoing in the incident, necessary action would be taken.
