text_fieldsIndian Army on Saturday shot down a Pakistan Army quadcopter along Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of frontier Kupwara district, defence officials said
They said the quadcopter was shot down at around 8 am today.
"A quadcopter (DJI Mavic 2 Pro model) has been shot down today morning by Indian Army in Keran sector," an Army statement said.
It added Pakistani quadcopter was made by Chinese company DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
Earlier this month, on October 10 Indian troops deployed at the Keran Sector had thwarted an attempt by militants to smuggle weapons from across the LoC.
It is not the first time a quadcopter has been shot along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir.
In June, a Pakistani drone was shot down by the BSF in Hiranagar Sector on the International Border in Jammu. Arms and ammunition, including one M-4 US rifle, were seized.
Last month, a consignment of weapons was dropped from a drone for terror outfits in the Rajouri Sector. Three terrorists were arrested by the security forces when they went to Rajouri to receive the consignment of weapons.
