Pakistani singer and politician Abrar Ul Haq said he will be taking legal action against Bollywood producer Karan Johar and T-Series for allegedly stealing his song 'Nach Punjaban'. A remixed version of the song had briefly appeared in the trailer of the upcoming movie Jugjugg Jeeyo.

In a new video, the singer said a lot of fans have been asking him why he is not going to court. "The answer is yes. I am going to court. Don't worry". He shared the video with the hashtag #StopStealingOurSongs.

Soon after the trailer dropped, the singer tweeted claiming he has not sold his song to anyone and will sue Karan Johar for theft of intellectual property. T-Series responded saying the company has "legally acquired" the rights to the song and added that the track is available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel.

T-Series further said the copyrights and all valid documents of the song are with Moviebox Records Label. The Indian firm added that all due credits will be given on all platforms when the song is released.

The Pak singer said merely giving credit is not enough because he never sold the song or gave anyone the right to use it. He said the song belongs to him and he will get it back. "God willing, I am coming to the court. See you there," said Abrar Ul Haq.

The trailer and song are out on YouTube. The main cast of the movie was seen dancing to the popular hook of the song from the 2002 album Nach Punjaban.

Jugjugg Jeeyo is a joint production between Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios. Directed by Raj Mehta, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Manish Paul, and Prajakta Koli. It will hit the screens on June 24, 2022.
